He further added that there is no possibility of any talks related to denuclearisation. The laws passed by the government state that the country can opt for a nuclear strike to protect the country’s sovereignty.

North Korea has stirred an alarming situation in the Pacific region by firing its long-range missiles. It has fired more than 30 under Pyongyang’s direction; one of them directly went over Japan. It’s also predicted that North Korea may test another nuclear device soon. Nuclear weapons testing is always a sign of danger. North Korea has been testing a variety of cruise missiles, ballistic missiles, and hypersonic missiles. Hypersonic missiles are more dangerous than the other two types. They fly faster than the speed of sound and at a low altitude, which makes them undetectable by radar.

A recent missile that was tested over Japan has been estimated to have a range of 4,500 km, which is enough to target the US island of Guam. North Korea has also been testing the Hwasong-14 ballistic missile, which has a coverage of 8,000 km or even 10,000 km. This makes it capable of reaching New York.

North Korea also displayed other missiles at the 2021 parade in January. Hwasong-15 missile was also displayed, which is said to have a coverage of 13,000 km and puts all the US continents in the coverage. The warhead also has the capability of carrying three to four warheads. The unveiling of the latest missiles appears to signal a message to Biden’s government of Korea’s growing military powers.

Relationship between North Korea and the U.S.

Mr.Kim carried out long-range nuclear tests in 2019, along with two headline-making summits with U.S. President Donald Trump. Since then, talks between the countries have come to a halt. Both Biden administrations have given the impression that they are willing to have talks with Pyongyang. However, it’s not specified whether Biden wants to meet Mr. Kim. The White House released a statement saying that its attempts to contact Pyongyang and offer help on the Covid outbreak in the country have all been unanswered.

The U.S. reviewed its policy for North Korea last year and announced that its goal was completely denuclearizing the Korean peninsula. Mr. Biden cleared his stance that he is willing to pursue his goal with stern deterrence and diplomacy. Mr. Kim responded by saying that his country must be prepared for confrontation and dialogue. Meanwhile, tensions have spiked in the Korean peninsula as Pyongyang has fired a record number of ballistic missiles. South Korea and the US have initiated a volley of missiles and the largest military exercise in years.
